Winter Reading List

I haven’t been on here in forever so I decided to blog something.

I’m going to read six books in six weeks over winter break. These are six pleasure novels that I’ve been dying to read. You may think that six books in six weeks isn’t that big of a deal. However, if you’re a reader like me, it drives you crazy to come across a word you don’t know. In order to learn that word, you must stop reading, look up the definition, write the word and definition in a notebook, and repeat it to yourself at least once.

Also, I’m an underliner. And I get hung up on quotes. Basically, I’m just making excuses for my slow reading.

My Six in Six list is as follows:

Emma by Jane Austen (Started Today)

Who Could that be at this Hour by  Lemony Snicket (my nostalgia piece)

Mrs. Dalloway by Virginia Woolf (so excited for modernism!)

Martin Dressler: The Tale of an American Dreamer by Steven Millhauser

Howard’s End by E.M. Forster

The Marble Faun by Nathaniel Hawthorne OR

The Age of Innocence by Edith Wharton (depending on my mood at the end)

I think I’ll post a little reader-response after each one, just to keep track of my thoughts :)
